The Decadent Society is a confrontation between excess and transcendence. At the base, a chaotic mass of bodies—abstracted, restless, dissolving into one another—echoes the indulgence and decline depicted in Couture’s Les Romains de la décadence. Above them rises Bernini’s Ecstasy of Saint Teresa, cast in serene clarity, like a sacred monument carved from light. She hovers not as salvation, but as a silent witness to collapse.

This work blends realism and abstraction to reflect a civilization seduced by its own brilliance—where pleasure drowns purpose, and the sacred becomes spectacle. It is a mirror of our time: radiant, beautiful, and already unraveling.
