How do you start with a blank canvas? Joost Pesch (1988) likes to start with an idea. He wanted to become an advertiser and eventually became a manager in the corporate world. After a study at the art academy in Rotterdam and a study in business administration he realized that his interests were flying in all directions. Art, strategy, marketing, history and so on.
All his life he has always been a painter, but Pesch worked as a manager in business for almost 10 years. Everything changed when he decided to put aside all logical next steps in his career. As the grandson of a mayor and a family with many traditional professions, being an artist is a striking, but still a logical choice for him. He found out that many disciplines come together in art like philosophy and technology. By making art he can share his broad interests and experience to influence the art world in his own way.
He decided to quit his job. No one else is going to do it for you, you have to dare to take the step yourself. “This is what i want. This is the type of life that I want to live”. He wants to make the world more interesting for himself and share that with people through his artworks.

Art can be anywhere and be seen in anything, but it has to stand out. In your favorite restaurant or hotel and other public places. In these places you are confronted with it without consciously seeking it out and I make it accessible to a wider audience.
By turning his deepest passion and talent into his work, he has been able to develop his own vision of the art world. The combination of his commercial and creative knowledge makes him independent. He believes artists nowadays can reach a large audience themselves if they use their knowledge correctly. The time of the financially suffering artist who dusts his canvases in his studio is over.
