Tasting The Stars
Inspired by the original painting by Dutch Master Frans Hals 'The Merry Drinker' proper title 'A Archer Holding a Birch Meier'. The work shows a gunman offering the viewer a glass of wine and is dated around 1628-1630. Property of the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum.
This parody shows the gunman offering the viewer a glass of champagne by celebrating it's second life in bright colors. the title and quote 'Tasting the Stars' refers to Dom Perignon. "Come quickly, I'm tasting the stars!" Is supposedly what he said when tasting the first sparkling Champagne.
